Completed/Inactive Working Groups and Task Forces

Develop and maintain standard system-wide policies and best practices regarding electronic resources management in the Library Services Platform (LSP) throughout the SUNY Library Consortia (SLC).  Propose and implement policies and procedures for sharing e-resources information within the LSP across the SLC to make management and evaluation of e-resources efficient for individual campuses and the SLC as a whole.  Create and maintain a plan for facilitating best practices within the LSP for the SLC and individual campuses for the entire e-resource life cycle including licensing, holdings and rights management, discovery, usage analysis, and renewal or cancellation review.  Research e-resources management best practices and policies in a consortial environment, and recommend policies related to storing, sharing, and managing licenses, usage data, and cost information.  Research and develop configuration for individual and group-wide e-resource management functionality within the LSP.  Explore new and emerging options for e-resource management in the LSP to expand collaborations on e-resources beyond the SLC.  Propose optimal LSP system settings to: enhance efficiency for local and consortial access, reduce redundant e-resource management activities, and produce reliable data for system-wide data analysis.   Create shared analytics recommendations to continue data-driven development of E-Resource activities across SUNY.  Analyze e-resource delivery through discovery, and recommend best practices to the LSP Discovery Working Group that are user-friendly and encourage the best use of local and system-wide resources.  Review needs and options for E-Resource training in the SUNY Library Consortium, and recommend training plans to the LSP Task Force and LSP Training Working Group.  This group will work closely with the SLC’s Commercial Products Committee.
